Heather Domzal

Director of Industry Engagement, SAIT

Heather Domzal is the director for industry engagement at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), Canada’s first public polytechnic institute. The Industry Engagement office, which Domzal helped start at SAIT, connects business leaders and partners to students, graduates, and collaborative opportunities for applied research. The office focuses on creating mutually beneficial industry-academia partnerships that support talent development, real-world impact, and business growth. Domzal identified the growth in awareness of Calgary’s tech scene, noting that when she moved to Calgary from British Columbia the tech sector was less visible than today. She has a background in journalism, graduating from SAIT, and began her career in communications at the City of Calgary before transitioning to strategic roles and ultimately serving as Chief of Staff to the Chief Administration Officer.
